Janie Meneely & Rob van Sante are planning a tour in the Norfolk to New Bern vicinity in June, and we need dates. Janie Meneely and her late husband, Paul diBlasi, played together as Calico Jack. Now she has teamed up with Rob van Sante for a whirlwind (!) tour this spring. Rob is most commonly associated with Alan Reid (formerly of Scotland's Battlefield Band), with whom he has toured frequently in the U.S. He's also regularly seen as John Connolly's side man (Fiddler's Green) in the U.K. Janie is better known for her Chesapeake Bay songs (and not a few ditties relating to the "ladies' side of the story," like "Twiddles" and "Nasty Nell"). They will be kicking off their tour at the Blackbeard Festival in Norfolk, June 4-5 and heading north again for the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum's Summer Concert series on June 15. Hoping to be in New Bern, N.C. on Saturday, June 11. Got any tips or leads? We LOVE house concerts. For more info, check out www.janiemeneely.com; you can contact her at janiemeneely@gmail.com
