Roosevelt Sykes sang that line about the Railway Blues but I think he had it as,"I got them railroad blues, she's too mean to cry". I used to like the line when I thought it meant "mean" in the English, tight-fisted sense of the word - too mean to waste tears I suppose that blues singers would have used mean in the American "tough" sense ?
