I was once treated to an impromptu Er-Hu recital by Ray Man at his Chinese musical instrument shop in London circa 1978 which included several Irish airs and a reel or two. In those days you could buy such an instrument for a tenner. The shop's moved up Chalk Farm Road now and still worth a look if ever you're passing even if the prices aren't quite what they were back in the day - a real piece of history that shop!
