Having once again found a rabbit in the garden this morning I believe that have started a evolution race, with a new breed of rabbit that can jump higher and higher being the outcome. Has anyone read the Si-Fi short story "Omnival" about a new colony on a planet where nature evolves at an astounding rate? In the end a humanoid type evolves and the colonists decide that it is time to make friends before they get out-evolved!
