Fionn, Challah, as someone else mentioned nine million posts ago, is a rich egg bread, usually braided. It is the traditional bread eaten on Friday night for the Jewish Sabbath celebration.

The recipe I use is from a book called The Book of Jewish Food by C. Roden. It's a wonderful book. Besides giving recipes, it explains many things about the Jewish people. Good reading as well as good eating.
