I finally stopped drinking about two years ago. I'm not sure I'm what you would call a proper alcoholic. but two years ago I went to AA for a few months and said every week and said i was. Eventually I got bored with listening to the same stories every week. And a Glaswegian with an accent I couldn't understand bumbling on for an hour finally closed that chapter. But it worked. Buggered if I'm going back. And the only way to make sure I don't is not EVER pick up a drink. I keep booze in for my guests, but never touch it. You'd be amazed how long a few bottles last! Best of luck with it! very sorry you've been ill.
