After my old H4 became unwittingly redundant (it can't take HDSC cards! D'oh!) I'm using my H1 for both studio mastering and field recording. In both senses it's more than up to the job, and I'm even finding the little HDSC cards not so fiddly these days. Complaints? None really - it fits snugly into a modest microphone wind shield (though with the addition of one of THESE you can make any Zoom recorder look like a Cyber Troll). For protection on the hoof, a cheap sunglasses case is ideal - with room to spare for wee tripod, earphones, spare battery, wind shield etc. So all in all a winner. Here's a field recording of me playing a Jew's Harp in York Minster Chapter House: Doromb Improvisation : York Minster Chapter House 9.12.14
