Very sad news. I was always a fan of the Tinkers and in fact I remember when they first started singing together at the Highfield and Park Inn on Waterloo street. Larry and Gerry's dad Benny Kearns was also one of the regulars with a great repertoire of Irish songs. I also remember the free sessions they ran in various pubs around Oldham when I lived there, like the Waterloo, Sir Colin Campbell and the Oldham Hotel, and others I can't remember the names of. Fond memories indeed! RIP Larry
