Listen, if Trump were a normal candidate - regardless of politics - and had "merely" said things like, "John McCain is no war hero. He was captured, I like people who don't get captured"; and, "I could shoot someone in the middle of Fifth Avenue and I wouldn't lose a single voter"; and "The judge is hater....I'm building a wall, he's a Mexican" etc., he'd be *through* long ago.

But his technique is to say something new and outrageous, or disgusting, several times a week. It starts to seem "normal" to people.

Latest gem: "She's taken so many day offs [sic], but she still can't make it to her car! That's tough."

He's also boasting that "almost all the polls" say he won the debate hands down.

His new ad shows supporters of all ages and ethnicities (including seemingly Hispanic) enthusing at a huge rally that "He tells the truth!" It's the focus of the ad.
