The comments above about many songs being non gender specific is a good one. When we write songs, we tend to have people or an amalgamation of people in mind as we write, even if the finished song is pure fiction and abstract. As these more enlightened times are demonstrating, many will be thinking of people they know whose weddings were good subjects for cracking songs and by simple law of averages, these will be gay people we sing of without knowing it, nor indeed have puerile interest in knowing.
