Dorothy Parshall Yet More Clutter's Last Stand - 2016 (374* d) RE: Yet More Clutter's Last Stand - 2016 15 Oct 16

Beaver:

"I'm starting to see tomatoes emerge and the eggplants are looking happy." And I am having frosty nights! Tomatoes long gone! Geez, when I saw that, I looked to see if I were in the right place/time! I am gradually putting the house into winter mode as I prepare to go to Quebec for 10 days. Everything needs to be freeze-proofed - moved into the bathroom, basically, as it is the only place I heat when away. And that with the magic outlet, thanks to Maggie!

So, with some wonderful energy the last couple days, I am trying to use as much clay as I can so there is less to keep warm. Yesterday, I threw 44 pounds - one box - and about 7 boxes to go. If the energy holds, I have a fair chance of using 3 more boxes. I will, hopefully, bisque fire before leaving and take the ware to Quebec to glaze fire.

As the weather gets colder, I am not going to stand on my head to try to make pots in a cold studio and have to deal with the cost of heating. I can do some when in Quebec if the weather is not too cold. The studio is larger and easier in some ways though I am gradually whipping this one into shape. Need more shelving for freshly thrown pots; yesterday's throwing filled all available space.

A coat in the car is a great idea as I tend to forget to take one. Also need to take a warm one to Quebec! Time to make a list!

Found a book at the library: The life changing magic of tidying up, translated from Japanese. An interesting read.
