Morning all,

Hi Nigel, all safe here in sunny ( !!) Frinton. Yes they were very worried and I do feel for those who were evacuated from Jaywick, but if anyone goes there they will see that the dwellings are small holiday type chalets and below sea level , the sea wall is only a couple of feet high. Many people drowned there in the 1953 floods. A lot of folk braved it out but if the wind had not dropped just after midnight there would have been a dreadful disaster.
My thoughts were with our local coastguard and lifeboat crew , many of them are our friends and were out two nights running in very cold and unkind weather keeping everyone safe!

We have had a lovely New Year, too much "bubbly" maybe but once a year eh? Billy has now started a very bad cough and fever but antibiotics kicking in, hopefully he will feel better soon, I do worry as his immune system cannot fight on its own but his last check up with his consultant was good so fingers crossed.

We are celebrating our youngest granddaughter's 8th Birthday tomorrow, today she is taking 17 friends roller skating in Colchester for a Birthday treat , bless mummy and daddy they are very brave or s......?

Good news the family have bought a new ,to us, beach hut at the Naze, my favourite beach so this summer Nigel and Ann we WILL get you down one Sunday for a proper get together!

wishing everyone on board lots of love

Wendy xxxx
