Donuel, ChanteyLass is spot on regarding T2 Diabetes. Mine is controlled by medication (Metformin) & diet. I have a six-monthly foot checkup & Hba1c blood test plus an annual eye test for Retinal Neuropathy. Despite being 'well controlled', T2D has caused capillary damage & nerve damage in my feet. I too indulged over the holidays & suffered as a result. To use your own words: "It's time to get...serious over diet". I can't emphasise the importance of those words enough. There will come a time when my tablets will have be replaced by Insulin. I want that moment to be as far away in the future as possible. Please PM me if you want to discuss T2D in more detail. I'm not a doctor, just a patient who was diagnosed a fair few years ago. I applaud your decision to get Dean's sugar tested. Wishing you both good health, Nigel.
