Gavin Paterson Origins: Show Me the Way to Go Home (75* d) RE: Origins: Show Me the Way to Go Home 22 Jan 17

There is another version of this song. It's on The Clancy Brothers LP of the same name from 1972. This album has never had a digital re-issue and is not very well known these days. Their version has the 'No matter where I roam' lines but not the 'I'm tired and I want to go to bed' section. And they credit I. King (as above) as the writer.

I've never heard this version anywhere else (but I have recorded it myself). Anyone know of this version?

Show Me The Way
1
I have watched the days melt and fade away
Ten thousand times or more
And I have drawn ten thousand conclusions
In the sand along the shore

Chorus
No matter where I roam
over land or sea or foam
You will always hear me singing that song
Show me the way to go home.

2
I've waited in the sun and listened to everyone
of the questions that you pose
And I have found the answers
In the petals of a rose

3
I've watched you come and go,
and learned enough to know
There's nothing left to see
And in my time I've loved a girl
And I known that she loved me
