Use get_player - comes in two favours

https://github.com/get-iplayer/get_iplayer_win32/releases/tag/2.99.0

1/ Windows PVR - search, save and download / record up to 7 days after transmission using a Windows interface

2/ Command line - download up to 30 days after transmission

Audio files and video files are the max. possible - 320kbps or HD resp., but lowering the bit rate can reduce the sizes

For 2/ you need to now the pid of the programme from the iPlayer pages on the BBC website

Start up a command window, using DOS commands navigate to

c:\program files (x86)\get_player>

Then use the command as follows

c:\program files (x86)\get_player>get_iplayer --type=radio --modes=best --pid=[whatever]

'best' gets 320kbps

Example: All Gas & Gaiters

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007jpfl

c:\program files (x86)\get_player>get_iplayer --type=radio --modes=best --pid=b007jpfl
