Yes, I am "the other one!" - although the internet has decided, if in doubt, to assume I'm actually Jon, so in one case has him appearing on Fellside's Penguin Book of English Folksongs LP when he would have been about 8 years old! Stirrings recently printed that photo, saying it was the first time we'd been seen in a room together and therefore scotched the rumour that we were in fact one and the same person! I like Al's reference to "musician extraordinaire John Bowden" though!! If anybody is in the area and would like to see me in the (all too abundant) flesh, Vic & I are guests at the Lake District Folk and Acoustic Club at the Hawkshead Brewery, Staveley, near Kendal, on Good Friday: The Lake District Folk & Acoustic Club takes place every 2nd Friday of the month. An informal monthly gathering celebrating the music of the people, bring your instruments & voices. Guest Performers: Vic Shepherd & John Bowden With a vast repertoire built over the past 30 years, this duo bring a superb collection of songs including many linked by the sea, shanties, sea ballads and some more reflective material with a maritime bent although Vic and John are based in Sheffield, not known for it's sailing tradition! There will be lots of opportunities to add your voice to swell the choruses and make them feel welcome. £5 admission http://www.hawksheadbrewery.co.uk/whats-on/2017/4/14/the-lake-district-folk-acoustic-club.aspx and https://en-gb.facebook.com/lakedistrictfolkclub/
