Thanks for the clarification Joe. It took me all of two minutes to find out that the song Loch Maree is a copyright work. It was put out in sheet music as well as recordings. Runrig fan, when you re-use the poetic words of a writer, if it is a modern work then the effort should be taken to credit that writer. It breaches copyright to use their words without license or at least giving them a name check, even if they are dead and can't do much about it! Also a lot of the ethos of a site like this is to get to the bottom of the origins of songs. Mudcat Cafe has always been a good source for that purpose. It would be sad if people just start to moronically post lyrics with no thought as to who wrote them, like a lot of the clickbait lyric sites In my opinion, if you don't know (unless you know it's a true trad. song or are trying to find out who wrote it), don't post! A little research usually turns up a reasonable answer. Just my opinion!
