So, Trump invites Comey to the white house for dinner and demands "loyalty", which is code for keep me out of this investigation. Comey says he can't promise "loyalty", only "honesty" which is code for whatever you did will come out.

Naturally, Trump had to fire Comey to cover his ass. Now he will appoint someone to head the FBI who is more "loyal". Even better, someone who has skin in the game meaning someone who was involved in the crimes, like Giuliani. This person will have incentive to halt the investigation.
