Yes, sad news indeed! I saw him live several times over the years, but the performance that really sticks in my memory is when he played at Selkirk for the last ever "Both Sides the Tweed Festival" (ca 2005 0r 2006?) He was then only recently out of hospital after various medical calamities, and a near-death experience, but his description of events had me convulsing with laughter. RIP Vin!
