Connor Lyr Req: Irish songs (thread closed) (39) RE: Lyrics tae Irish songs 19 Sep 98

Fair dinkum Mick yer a legend. Thanks VERY much fae all of yer efforts sport. Much appreciated ye ken. By the way, I dinnae suppose ye ken of a song that is about a wee fly that shites "...upon the table, and it sshhh upon the floor..." I think this wee fly was in a shop of some description. Aye, I ken that its nae much tae gae on. Still, it cannae hurt tae ask. An Irish lass I met in Bexhill-on-Sea used tae sing it. Fair tae say it is a humourous song. Speaking of which, do ye ken the words tae "The Bricklayer Song" and "The Sunday driver"? Both of these songs were covered by the Corries. I have asked this question, or rather my brother has in another thread but as yet without luck! Thanks again cobber, Connor
