Can anyone help with the origin of the following lyrics to the tune of Wildwood Flower?

1st Verse:
"Here's a song I have sung about 10,000 times,
It's a tune that will drive you right out of your mind.
You play a C, G and C, up to F and back to C,
It's called the Wildwood Flower and I play it by the hour."

There are another couple of verses. I have known this song for about 20 years, but can't remember where I got it from.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Frank
