Resurrecting a rather old thread..... Alistair will be guesting on Celtic Music Radio this coming Tuesday afternoon (11 July). As part of his "Ballads and Balladeers" series, Gavin Paterson introduces a series of occasional shows looking back over the entire career of one of our folk song heroes or heroines, For our first show, the Special Guest is Alastair McDonald. From recording in Abbey Road *before* The Beatles to ongoing theatrical and musical work, he has had a unique life in folk song. Gavin Paterson will be chatting to Alastair, talking about his early 'Skiffle' and trad influence, working with Maurice Blythman and Jim McLean, and about the big numbers that are forever associated with him. Sam the Skull will no doubt make an appearance. Please join us on Tuesday 11th July – 2pm to 4pm UK time. You can listen on 95FM around Glasgow, or online at www.celticmusicradio.net (click the "speaker" icon at the top of the page), or via apps such as TuneIn. And after broadcast, you'll be able to listen again for 30 days on Gavin's catch-up page
