An anecdote, as requested. I got married in 1978, and it was the first wedding in that church (and for any of the guests) where the music was all "folk mass', played by with guitars and flute (and a bodhran!) It was also the first wedding anyone had been to where my wife and I stood on opposite sides of the priest during the consecration, rather like a concelebrated mass (which it wasn't, of course) Most people liked it. Most thought we were a bit odd. Nothing changed there, then.
