In "On the Road" Jack Kerouac wrote a line about dropping a rose in the Hudson River at its source and following it downstream. In the 1960s this line inspired a song, popular at the time, about dropping a rose in a river and following it along. Can anyone give me the name of this song and/or the name of the artist who wrote/performed it?
