bruceCMR Ewan McVicar on Celtic Music Radio (2) Ewan McVicar on Celtic Music Radio 20 Sep 17

Ewan McVicar was Gavin Paterson's guest on Celtic Music Radio earlier this week.

Here's the playlist, and a link to where you can hear it again for the next 30 days.

Playlist for Ballads & Balladeers with Gavin Paterson, Tuesday 19 September 2017.

Some weeks ago I spent the afternoon talking with Ewan McVicar about his life and music. Ewan himself chose the music we would discuss and play and all of it reflects a particular time or event in his life. An eclectic mix of sounds to match an eclectic life.

A founder member of the first public folk club in Glasgow, he wrote a chart hit in 1960 but it's not in the Guinness Book - Ewan tells why, he lived and worked in both Africa and the USA in the 60s. Activist, educator and song writer. And more.

And I have more stories and songs that I couldn't squeeze into two hours. I'll play them, along with some other 'out-takes' on a later date.
