Susan you are 100% correct. All this retroactive activism, some which predates my birth, feels like defeat. It reminds me of our defeat by asassinations of JFK,MLK,RFK. It reminds me of the defeat of common sense in Viet Nam. It reminds me of the defeat of common sense by petty autocrats in every crevice and stair step of society who are just petulant control bullies.

We are not defeated but it feels that way as civility, dialog, truth and the better good slips away. Destabilizing the USA using its own racist institutions, shared hatred and shared defeats is the cruelist cut of all by Russia. It is a worse sin against humanity than the 15 tons of small pox virus the USSR made to send against the US after a nuclear exchange, to be doubly sure we as a diverse people are vanquished.
