The optimum date for lighting a fire would, of course, be Jim Morrison's birthday, which is December 8th. That date works out pretty well for denizens of the Northern Hemisphere, but not so much for those in the Southern Hemisphere. For them, the best date is July 3rd, which is the date upon which Morrison died. For best results, it is recommended that the actual fire lighting be done by a baby.
