Formed in 1924 by miners working in the Yorkshire village of Thurnscoe, Barry says the choir were ?great to work with.? The Radio Ballad of the Great War 1917 also includes a first chance to hear Jim Boyes & Maarten Decombel as the new duo perform ?Passchendaele?, a song by Jim which was specially commissioned for the programme.
