Hootenanny was ONLY used in the USA for folk events and concerts in the 1960s. NEVER rock. It was part of the great Folk Scare and we were far above all that chidlwren's music called rock.

Even Peter Paul and Mary joked about it in concert and on records. (You know, those flat back discs with the hole in the middle and grroves on each side?) Yeah, those things.
