I would like to know how, as a touring band playing at festivals to multi-national audiences ranging from 3000 to 5000 in number, you can "be aware who they are" having arrived on the day and playing two slots then departing to your next engagement. You could ask a festival organizer or some other person if the audience is fond of racist lyrics or not. You're probably safe with ethnomusicologists, or if the event is being hosted by white supremicists, or if they're likely to be too drunk to pay attention to lyrics. Otherwise, newsflash: most people in the US don't appreciate songs containing anachronistic racial slurs. There. Now you know. You're welcome.
