Just this evening I decided to add this song to our band's play list for St pat's day, and here is a thread on it revived by a guest so I don't have to search for it. Truly amazing. I do have a question for fans of this song - does the third verse sound a tad too Christian as compared to the first two? The first two verses are about nature and fairies and a ban-shee....and then the third one brings in a chapel and hymns. It just seems weird, like the song originally had only the first two verses and then someone decided it had to have a Christian verse in order to make it acceptable. The same thing happens with "Lagan Love" - two verses of nature stuff and then a third verse about chasteness. Does anyone else think it's strange?
