Scotland would be one of the wealthiest countries in the world if we'd managed to stop Thatcher and her confederates stealing it. The comparison is with Norway (same size country, same amount of oil, now sitting on a trillion-dollar surplus because they made damn sure the oil companies paid their taxes).
