I attended a Camp Fire Girl camp--Camp Kitanawa--in 1958 & 1959 located near Battle Creek, Michigan. Our version, as my friend and I remember it, went like this: If there were witchcraft I'd make two wishes A winding trail that beckons me to roam And then I'd wish for a blazing campfire To welcome me when I'm returning home. Memories which linger, constant and true My fondest memories are of Kitanawa and you. This song brings back so many wonderful memories!
