I seldom try resolutions, because I get annoyed with myself when I screw up and I screw up enough that I don't want to spend my life annoyed and annoyING. I've only made one New Year's Resolution that I managed to keep to, and it did me a world of good, but it was simple, though dramatic. I had a coworker who was an elderly Romanian lady who acted like deposed royalty, (we should all bow to her and MUST acknowledge her presence when she walks into a room). She hated me from the first day and went out of her way to make me miserable, show me in a bad light, point out any flaw or mistake of mine. She could get me furious in 3 minutes flat. I resolved not to talk to her other than when I HAD to make a specific request "I need to use that book right now, please." Gave her no opening to argue or complain. Peace in the office for the first time in 8 years. WONDERFUL. Now if I could just find a way to stop arguing with myself, I'd make that a resolution! Joanne in Cleveland, unresolved
