I know someone who passed the test who was diagnosed with bowel cancer a few months later. The chemical fecal occult blood test picks up a daily blood loss of approximately 10ml. a) A tumor may not be bleeding. b) A tumor may be bleeding but not enough to detect. Still worth looking down the loo every now and then. Useless, note the word occult in the name of the test.
