Mr Red Tech: Google event data collecting scheme ???? (3) RE: Tech: Google event data collecting scheme ???? 25 Jan 18

The industry wide scheme (Schema.org) is far more baffling. The structure is, on the face of it, a tree. But there is "re-usage" so you lose track of how deep you are in the tree.

And worse, Goggle don't use everything available so being clever doesn't work.

I struggled to understand how (eg) Stroud ceilidhs could describe themsleves and include events with different dates, different bands and also differing venues in one "embed". It sort of worked if I describe the whole as an "Event" + "MusicGroup" (??), and the individual items as "DanceEvent".
That's Goggle for you.

I found examples that addressed single events, and after digging deep a multi-event example. Copying still involved removing/modifying anything that Goggle disliked. It helped (a little) being aux fais with JavaScript.

If anyone wants the benefit of my tentative efforts. PM me.
