On a much older thread, Dick Greenhaus contributed a post. He states there that Merle Travis' "Nine Pound Hammer" is itself a song whose lyrics come from a number of earlier songs.
But Greenhaus did not spell out any more about those earlier songs.
By clicking on the User Name, you will requery the forum for that user. You will see everything that he or she has posted with that Mudcat name.
