GUEST,The Goose Is Out! Wizz Jones SE London GIG Friday 23 Feb (2) Wizz Jones SE London GIG Friday 23 Feb 15 Feb 18

Wizz Jones + Andy Twyman + Andy Matthewson & Lisa Winship: The Goose Is Out! The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead, London SE15 3BE. Friday 23 Feb. 7 pm.

Tickets: https://www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout

Wizz began his musical career at the age of 18 leading a Country and Skiffle band called "The Wranglers" in Croydon, Surrey in 1957. He had been inspired to take up the acoustic guitar a year or so before this after hearing such guitar luminaries as Big Bill Broonzy, Rambling Jack Elliot and Muddy Waters playing at a club in London.

Wizz spent the late 50s busking his way around Europe and returned to the UK in the early 60s with a guitar style all his own. He is widely acknowledged as being a strong influence on the playing of John Renbourn and Bert Jansch, and instrumental in the careers of Ralph McTell and Steve Tilston.

We are delighted that Wizz is returning to the Goose Is Out for this gig,

Andy Twyman is a jaw-droppingly good one-man band who we came across at a Blues Night at The Ivy House. He’s also very funny …..

Lisa Winship and Andy Mathewson play a broad range of country blues, ragtime, original songs and acoustic versions of almost anything they like from the 1920s onwards. They originally got together in 2010 and spent three years paying their dues in folk clubs, arts centres and on small concert stages around Berkshire, Oxfordshire, and Surrey,
