It's what pollsters ask people, Nigel. If you have a problem with that I'd suggest that you are being downright unreasonable. Not unreasonable. How often recently have polls failed to predict the correct outcome. It may be that polls have some inbuilt fallibility, or just that people give pollsters the answer they think the pollsters want, but then go on to vote in line with their true beliefs.
