In a sense, Linn, there's a wider question there - and I' know exactly where you're coming from vis-a-vis music. When a person's life is filled with a particular activity, the lack of that activity - for any reason - can create huge frustrations. I've known men whose whole life revolved around work, and the thought of retirement held terrors for them. The husband of one of my wife's friends has early onset dementia and as been told by his doctor that he can't drive any more. He loved it, and the news had him in tears. I'm aware that music can be a welcoming group activity, but to lose anything that is close to your heart is, frankly, heartbreaking.
