Of course, refusing to speak at all, to the extent of not even entering a plea, is different from having sworn to tell the whole truth, and then refusing to answer a question. I looked at the link Backwoodsman put up, but I"m still not clear on whether in the middle of sworn testimony, in a British court, a witness can refuse to answer a question of the basis of self-incrimination ... ? |
