Georgiansilver, that made me smile. Our window cleaner (called Andy) fell off a ladder and badly damaged his arm. He shaved of a slice from the elbow bone and took all the skin from one side of the arm, needing a skin graft. He was in hospital for a time, then bravely began working once more, with his injured arm in a sling. He actually did employ a rather seedy-looking chap to go on his rounds with him, and wring out the washing cloths! Also, to hold the bottom of his ladder while he went up, and to carry it for him from house to house.
Funnily enough, he came round ours this morning. His arm is better, but now he's hurt his knee! I reckon he's accident-prone.
