I don't know the song, but the phrase 'the wine dark sea spreads the rosy fingered dawn' comes from a recent translation of Homer's Odyssey made by Emily Wilson (2017). The term 'wine dark sea' occurs both in the Iliad and in the Odyssey, but the rest of the sentence seems to be from Wilson herself. |
