Stilly River Sage BS: Jim Carroll should stay (80* d) RE: BS: Jim Carroll should stay 10 Jun 18

The lightning rod effect of having posted moderator remarks under my own account is that now we have a drop-in troll starting new threads to make accusations about the inner-workings of this site as if I have something to do with the decisions surrounding Jim and the combatants who come here to fight with him. I would like to see less fighting, and given my drothers, there are some always-fighting members I'd like to see take a hiatus, at the very least. But I can't and won't do that all by myself. This is a group of volunteers who work at mudcat first and foremost because we're interested in the music. And some of us hold our noses and wade around in the BS section to remove spam and the worst of the fighting. Occasionally enough of us concur on the bad behavior of a member and remove them from the membership. We don't always agree on that, and a couple of the worst offenders now are here because we haven't convinced enough moderators that they should go. Those who were kicked out are still able to participate as guests in the music section. I'm guessing the posts from "Publius" are exactly that - posts from someone who was kicked out or never allowed to join.

Posts that speculate about moderation at Mudcat, that make spurious claims against the volunteers here, and that keep fights going just to fight are not allowed. And when the perpetrator is too pushy the thread is closed and sometimes that individual is put in an IP time out.

Jim Carroll should stay.
