RE McNally: "[Resthouse]" sounds impossible to me. What I hear is "luck house" or (do we dare conjecture?) "Lock house." "Give them white ribbons and laces all" comes across clearly. The melody of stanza two begins to incline toward that of "In Newry Town," with its parallel funeral verses. The two stanzas of "The Bad Girl" are followed by others that seem to be from a different "dying protagonist" song - definitely not "Mrs. Foggerty's Cake," which then follows!
