On our way to the village shop I initiated a random chat this morning. Old fellow in his garden getting some washing in. I asked him if he was going to iron it all as well and he laughed like a drain. No, his wife did all that stuff. Long natter about housework, birds messing on clothes on the line, how hot it is, how his wife is (been poorly lately) and on and on and on... yap yap yap... My poor husband was sighing loudly and hopping from one foot to the other. (He's not a natterer) This is a mini-lesson, olddude, in how to be a blooming old nuisance!
