You know, the discussion about the Kingston Trio which dates from the 20th century is well-established at the Mudcat Cafe forum.
It will no doubt continue on threads old and new.

However:
A "Kingston Trio" appearance is being promoted in my area.
I looked to the Mudcat, search feature and all,
for information on this iteration of the group.
I looked under the individual names of the current Trio members.
I can't find any mention of THEIR three names here.

So, fine, the rest of you go on talking about
Bob Shane and his former Trio fellows who have passed away.

There ought to be one measly thread at the Mudcat for
the 2018 iteration.
And if nobody else will start it, I will.

Here is how I piece it together;
if I say something erroneous, I'm counting on other Mudcat members
to call me out and to correct me here.

Some time ago there was a modest musical group
that called itself "The Lion Sons."
And, no, I never heard of them at the time.
Their membership was:

Josh Reynolds,
son of Nick Reynolds of the Kingston Trio.

Mike Marvin,
blood relative of the Nick Reynolds family;
"taken in as part of the Reynolds family as a teenager."

Tim Gorelangton,
Hawa'ii native, Army veteran.
No further info on
how Josh Reynolds and Mike Marvin encountered him.

And I have no information
on how these three men, from the same generation,
became The Kingston Trio
after Bob Shane stepped down.

On Sept. 22 they will perform in the Greater Boston Metro area.
I'm not certain if it will be the Foxborough Orpheum Theatre
or the church coffeehouse in Wrentham.
