RADIO BOOGIE As recorded by Hot Rize on "Radio Boogie" (1981). 1. Well, I got me a hat and an old guitar And I made a down payment on a second-handed car I got me a job on the radio. Now I'm savin' up money for a fiddle and a bow. CHORUS: Do the radio boogie all over the dial. With a solid kick, and a red-hot lick, it's a Tennessee style. 2. Well, early in the mornin' when the sun comes up, I pull the cork from the jug and I take a little sup. If the sun keeps a-shinin' I'll plow some corn. If it starts to rain, I'll just grind it in the barn. 3. Well, I call my gal on the telephone: "Whatcha doin', honey? Are ya all alone? Come on over 'bout an hour or so, And we'll both do the boogie by the radio." 4. Since I got me a job in a hillbilly band I got brand-new clothes; I got money to spend; And everybody asks everywhere we play. The Radio Boogie's all they can say. [There was an earlier recording by L. C. Smith, Ralph May and the Southern Mountain Boys, ca. 1952.]
