The police realised they were on a no winner and made an out of court settlement. The BBC fought on through the courts. All those involved should be terminated immediately and any pension entitlements taken to pay both the award for damages and the resultant legal fees. "Cliff Richard was accused of nothing. Publicising investigations into celebrities is fully in the public interest." It was a publicised investigation into nothing?
