At the moment, the search engine is more bust than boom. I did succeed in pulling up this thread, only by doing the thread-title search feature. When I tried searching within Mudcat, even for the name of the Author/Composer I have in mind, the search just crashed. Bummer. Anyway: This is from hymnary.org, under the Author/Composer's name. Sanford Jesse Massengale went to Stamps Music School when it was in Dallas, Texas. In 1929, he graduated. He wrote a total of 1800 church songs. Massengale died in 1992 and is buried in Wetumka, Oklahoma. Hymnary dot org does not list I Don't Want To Get Adjusted / To This World Below. These three titles, however, are listed under TUNES / COMPOSER Christ said, He has come not the law to destroy Just a touch of His hand / To my soul feels so grand Some of these days, it won't be long, / I'll be singing a glad new song According to myheritage dot com, Massengale's birth year is 1904. He spent part of his early years in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and though HIS birthplace is not given, his father, William Thomas M., was born in Dogpatch, Newton, Arkansas. Will report further as I locate more.
